Timberline Ski Resort - On Snow Park Jam! - POSTPONED!
Posted: Mar 13, 2009
*THE EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED DUE TO TOO MUCH SNOW*
Timberline Ski Resort on Mt Hood, Oregon is going to host a fun on snow bike jam on the Conway Terrain Park Sunday March 29th. It's a great end of season alternative until the trails fully melt out. You get full Lift Service as if you're skiing for a measly $15 bucks USD. Come to historic Timberline Lodge Ski Resort and enjoy 'schrapling' on a World Class 'terrain' park- but on your bike!
So, one day in the Wy'east Day Lodge I ask Steve Kruse (General Manager of the resort) if I could ride my bike through the perfectly manicured park. He arranged a date for us to test it. (Unfortunately I missed it to due to the 'Toddler Factor') and was even more excited to see this video of NWSOF's Sam "Samublance" Pinner and Momentum's Head Honcho Cary Hopkins shred 'Glade Park'. Check it out.
It's really a gathering for those that love lift assisted riding. It's only a short period of time, but the terrain park on Mt Hood has absolute quality table top jumps and some great features this year and I can personally tell you - IT'S VEIN POPPING AMAZING!
So come out with your trusty bike (Hardtails Welcome!), score some spiked mud tires (but NO steel spikes), bring your pads, your shades, your camera for some good old fun on Mt Hood at Timberline Ski Resort. It's only $15 USD Dollars from 4:30pm to 6:30pm, registration starts at 3pm (and I imagine the bar being a hotspot for the courage shots prior to first ride!)
Have fun, enjoy it as this is one rare treat for anyone who attends and just wants to ride lift access.

I am so there!
hells yeah... I even got my mom to join me on this run..lol.. (hardtails welcome) You damn right ill be there on my hardtail.
What do you mean not worth it, it's way better than nothing at all! In Calgary the riders wait all year for their one chance to ride the terrain park for a few hours and they are pretty grateful for it.
If this goes well they'll more times coming. We are already talking about next year. Plus for only 15 dollars that's cheap for riding the lift on a groomed snow board park and a party afterwords with a raffle. Sounds worth it to me. It should be a blast.
Its not worth it to drive 6 hours one way from Boise is what I believe he meant to write. If he only knew he has to drive through 2 world famous biking locations before arriving at T-line. Oh well, his loss.
Post Canyon in Hood River, OR and Syncline in Bingen WA. 2 very popular riding destinations..........DH or XC- its all here.
are you kidding me if all ihad to drive was 6 hours id be there
my drive is 9 hrs 15mins and id go if my dad would drive me

it sounds like so much fun i wish all ski resorts would do this!

For right now the forest service does not let that happen. but there is going to be a super d race at timberline in sept. I know we would all love to have them get in to biking for the summer and this is a great baby step towards mt biking at timberline.
do you have to pay $15.00 to shred if you have a mt. hood fusion pass? i won the mt. hood meadows one of these a few years ago but they had ply in the landing. if it's a slushy day it's going to be interesting to see how this pans out.
everyone pays 15 dollars to sign a form and for the party afterwards. they said there going to salt if it gets slushy and rework the jumps before we ride. the park is really hard packed so it should be sweet.
Nice Work!! If my toddler factors doesn't kick in I'm going to try and make it. Sounds well worth it to me! Great racing with you last weekend, totally enjoyed it. What's the deal with the tires? I know nothing about riding on snow.....
Just a set 2.5 tires work well, but mud 2.5 dh tires are best. if its hard it wont matter the tires you run as long as the tires not smooth.
I hate to say it but the snow ride has been postponed till a later date due to the heavy snow fall this week. eep tune for a new date in a few weeks or call the shop here Momentum Bike 503-826-1070
Sweet good job. Maybe next time I wont be in the middle of trying to move the shop. The event well happen, it's just going to be another weekend.
